Living With Wildlife

Our animal family includes wild ones and tamer types, passersby and residents alike. We love and protect them all and they give back abundantly.

The property has a few favourite felines who may steal your lap or your heart. Caracals have been known to sniff the air at the forest edge, vervets join you in your daily routine and watch with curious eyes and cheeky intent, and baboons visit regularly in a happy, screechy troop.

We actively discourage feeding them and all other creatures as it develops an unfair dependency that can lead to the decline of their well-being. Porcupine are predominantly nocturnal and very shy. Bush pigs are rarely seen but must be given a wide berth. Like us, like you, all creatures are curious, and we encourage you to secure your possessions from them as well as from the weather.
